We're seeking a Junior QA Tester to join Overhype Studios for MENACE and future projects.

Company Overview
Overhype Studios is an independent video game development studio based in Hamburg, Germany. We are devoted to making great games that we want to play ourselves. Our games strive to reflect the creativity, complexity and originality from the old days when game developers were passionate gamers, not corporate businessmen.

Following the success of our first game, Battle Brothers, and its DLCs, we are working on MENACE - a 3D turn-based tactical sci-fi RPG built on the Unity engine. Our team consists of 9 highly experienced professionals, primarily located in Hamburg, with some members working fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Organize, reproduce, and clarify issues reported by other team members, external testers, and players
• Verify new game features and bug fixes to work as designed
• Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, and performance tests, to ensure the quality and stability of our games
• Use creative problem-solving to find new and imaginative ways to break our games
• Proactively identify, analyze, and document bugs, ensuring that all issues are tracked and prioritized with clear and detailed reports
• Support our game designer with the creation and integration of new game content

Requirements

• Very good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings and suggestions
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Good judgment in estimating the significance and consequences of the bugs
• Rigorous, methodical, and resourceful approach
• Responsible, self-disciplined, and have good self-learning skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for turn-based tactical games like Battle Brothers, XCOM, or Jagged Alliance

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in QA
• Knowledge of bug tracking software
• Basic programming skills
