Game Analyst for Forge of Empires
Job description
Forge of Empires is a long-running, data-rich Free-to-Play strategy game with millions of player decisions every day. Join us as a Game Analyst and turn LiveOps and monetization questions into clear, measurable actions - helping our team shape events, offers, and economies that players love and that sustainably grow revenue.
Your mission
- LiveOps performance steering. You monitor and analyze event cycles, feature rollouts, and in-game promotions, and you proactively highlight opportunities and risks (e.g., pacing, difficulty spikes, churn signals).
- Economy & progression analysis. You evaluate sinks/sources, resource inflation, and progression friction, and you advise on economy tuning to balance fun, fairness, and revenue.
- Experimentation & uplift measurement. You co-own A/B tests for events, offers, and monetization features - defining hypotheses, success metrics, and guardrails, then quantifying incremental impact (uplift, cannibalization, long-term effects).
- Monetization & full-funnel insights. You are confident working with both marketing and monetization KPIs - tracking the funnel from acquisition through offer performance - and translate findings into concrete areas of improvement that help the product reach its goals.
- Dashboards & decision support. You build and maintain self-serve reporting for LiveOps and monetization, enabling fast decisions during event operations and post-mortems.
- Cross-functional alignment. You collaborate with designers, product owners, and developers to improve tracking, ensure clean definitions of KPIs, and communicate results in a way that drives next actions.
Your skill set
- Relevant experience. 2+ years in product/game analytics, in Free-to-Play with exposure to LiveOps and monetization topics (events, offers, economy, segmentation).
- Strong SQL. You write performant queries on large event datasets, validate tracking logic, and are comfortable with joins, window functions, and cohort/funnel analysis.
- Statistics you can apply. You understand experiment design, significance, bias pitfalls, and how to balance speed with rigor in a LiveOps environment.
- Analytical tooling. Confident in Microsoft Excel for rapid analysis and Power BI for clear, reliable dashboards. You also bring working familiarity with AI assistants like Claude and have used Python in an analytical context before.
- Monetization & F2P fluency. You know common F2P concepts (conversion, payer lifecycle, LTV, price elasticity, cannibalization) and follow the broader market - you play and observe live games, spot trends, and can connect them to product and monetization decisions.
- Clear communication. You present insights as decisions: what happened, why it matters, what we should do next - tailored to mixed audiences.
- Ownership & drive. You work in a self-driven way, ask the right questions before they're asked, and prioritize by impact. You thrive in a cadence-driven LiveOps setup and keep digging until you find the "so what?" behind the numbers.
Your power-ups
- Career opportunities. Level up with excellent training and development opportunities, such as e-learning, hard- or soft-skill trainings or industry conferences.
- Outstanding benefits. Get 28 vacation days, a sabbatical, mobile device, contribution to your public transport ticket, and more.
- Flexible working hours. We offer trust-based working hours as well as active breaks - play table tennis with your team, work out in our gym or go to our rooftop terrace to get some fresh air.
- Hybrid Working Model. We offer our colleagues the flexibility to choose between working from home and our modern offices in central Hamburg. With regular times planned together at the office during our Office Days, we keep up our unique InnoGames spirit!
- Compensation & Fair Play. We have career models as well as market-competitive salary grids in place that ensure that we treat our employees fairly. For this regular-level position, the salary range is between € 55,200 and € 72,000 gross. Your seniority level (junior, regular, senior) will be evaluated during the interview process. The salary ranges for other seniority levels differ.
- Team of specialists. Be part of a stable, growing, and award-winning global company. Meet your future colleagues in Business & Game Support and Creative & Product Management.
- English first. Our company language is English, and we support all our employees with optional German lessons.
- Team events. Participate in regular team events (e.g., wine tasting, cooking, paintball), barbecue together on our rooftop terrace, and enjoy regular company-get-togethers like the InnoConf.
